Who we are
GiCP is the Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection Research Group. Our work focuses on understanding risks in digital environments and developing solutions that contribute to a safer digital world, with the protection of information and citizens as central goals.
Our team takes an applied science approach: we seek tangible solutions to real-world problems. This work takes place through research projects and collaborations, with results documented in our scientific publications.
What we do
We develop advanced techniques to ensure the security, authenticity and integrity of information. We use computer systems technologies and work on the use and development of cryptographic techniques for anonymisation and the secure execution of software.
We also apply artificial intelligence and deep learning to analyse information flows. These research directions help us address cybersecurity and privacy challenges, with particular attention to protection against cyber threats and misinformation.
Where we are
We are part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). We are based at the Leonardo Torres Quevedo Institute of Physical and Information Technologies (ITEFI) in Madrid, where we carry out our work within its research and development environment.
